I have been working for a firm doing IT work for over 9 years on contract. This started as a 6 month project. I have tried to get hired on numerous times and have been rejected every time. They have a stellar bonus program here and also wonderful health benefits. They also have an unheard of retirement program. I feel I have been left out; I have not gotten a raise in 5 years.

If I had been a permanent employee I would have been paid 100’s of thousands of dollars more then I have made in my present situation.

What should I do???

Unless they are purposely keeping you as a temp to avoid paying benefits, or you are really not an IC but an employee, there isn't much you can do. If you are improperly classified then you may have a claim through the DOL.

Have you applied for actual vacant positions and been turned down or are you just seeking to change your status?
