I work for a Colorado retail location where the managers lock the doors after business hours (per company policy, safety issues, etc.) while the store is being cleaned. After the store has been recovered and the cashiers have been counted down the M.O.D. will page for us to clock out and that we are ready to leave. On a nightly basis about 12-15 employees will wait at the front doors for an average 10 to 15 minutes off the clock while key holder (m.o.d.) finishes paperwork, uses the restroom, etc. until they make it to the front of the store to unlock the doors. From my understanding if an employee is "forced" to stay in a locked building (for example, would be fired for leaving through the emergency exit and setting off the alarm) they must be compensated for time spent or it is considered false imprisonment.

Is this true under Colorado Law?

You are correct that if you are required to be there, you have to be paid for the time. The false imprisonment thing is a bit off the wall, however.
