I live in Texas, and within the last couple of days have found out a registered sex offender is living next door. He was convicted of sexual assault on a child (16 year old girl) and served 4 years, just getting out within the last year. I have lived there since November 1st, but after finding this out, and getting ready to get married, I do not at all feel comfortable at all with my soon to be wife living there, especially when I work 10-12 hours a day and we are both in our early 20's. I wanted to know if there is any law or any other way to break the lease early so we don't have to live there. Thanks for any input.

Well I doubt you will be able to get out of your lease just for this, but I suggest that you talk with your landlord and emphasize you are marrying and need to move. I suggest that you consult a local attorney, but the reality is that the landlord does not control who lives wiht the neighbors and like you cannot do anything about that. Hopefully, the landlord will let you out of the lease but there is no guarantee.
