No, there are no such laws, in Maryland or any other state. Bereavement pay or time off is whatever the employer chooses to provide.

Bereavement doesn't have ot be offered at all. If it is offered, your employer may designate those who qualify under the policy. You should be able to use other paid leave for the time.
