Are their any laws in maryland regarding paid/unpaid breavement leave? I recently lost a grandparent and this was not considered "immediate family" for my companies paid breavement policy.

Pattymd 04-03-2006, 06:02 AM No, there are no such laws, in Maryland or any other state. Bereavement pay or time off is whatever the employer chooses to provide. ElleMD 04-03-2006, 07:49 PM Bereavement doesn't have ot be offered at all. If it is offered, your employer may designate those who qualify under the policy. You should be able to use other paid leave for the time. |
