I live in a Mobile home park in florida and im having a harassment problem with my neighbor. I wrote a letter to the manager and also the owner of the m.h.p. about this issue.and they both seem to think it's not much of a problem.this neighbor has got in my face and cussed me out for doing my laundry (i have no idea why she cares),she watches me when i go outside,so i wait for her to go inside everyday before i take my dog's out/do laundry or yard work.but that plan has failed because every time i go outside she comes out just to sit and watch.one day i had my puppy outside in my yard and she went inside and started knocking on her walls to make the dog's bark,then she came back out and threw a rather large stick at my dog's for barking.she has also thrown sticks at my car/threw garbage in my yard and her biggest thing to mess with me about is the leaves in my yard. my husband or i will rake them all in a pile and take a break before we bag them,so she will wait for us to go inside then she will scatter them back out aswell as rake piles and piles of leaves in my yard.she did this to me for the 4th time this past weekend 4/2/2006.so when i was cleaning them back up she came out and started cussing at me saying i put leaves in her yard and said she was going to stab me next time and have her son beat my husband up! i can't get any help from the owner/manager..... is what she's doing illegal at all? or am I the one who is going crazy???(tampa,florida)

You should call the police, anytime she threaten you or comes on your property, because she is harassing you, if what you stated is true. At least you can file a police report when the cops are called and if you have to take neighbor to court, at least you will have evidence of harassment and let the cops and judges know you have tried to be civil in the matter, also the cops will talk to neighbor and maybe it can be enough to scare her, but if not take her to court and maybe the judge can grant you civil, or punative damages for harassment(depending on actual charges and your proof). You may want to mail a certified letter to your neighbor and landlord about the problems and your request's and keep a copy of letter for your records for cops/court.
Check your local city ordinance codes to see if neighbor is violating any, if she gets slapped with fines, jail time etc...she may stop it...Good Luck

Most of the time if the cops is called enough about the matter, they will get tired of addressing her about the same issues if she is the problem and not willing to set her differences aside and will take her to jail.

But be careful, because it could get worse if cops get involved, and your neighbor may resent you even more...so only you know what is in your best interest. Don't do anything that will hurt your credability. Good Luck!

Make a police report then send a copy to the property manager, so I think they get the picture that this is serious. You need to document this stuff and also try to have witnesses friendly to you who are credible see this.
