I work for a property Management Company doing maintenence and I report to the office, am given a list of places that require fixing and am sent off in my personal vehicle and recieve no mileage at all. Instead my boss gave me and all the other maintenence guys a $1 an hour extra for gas. The sad thing is the Real estate agents all get paid mileage, but us maitenence guys don't even though, and probably because we drive the most. We all are hourly employees, not sure if I'm exempt or non-exempt. What I'm looking for is a website that says in plain english that she needs to be paying us mileage. It would really help out seeing as we all drive about 1000 miles a month on average...Any help is greatly appriciated
Thanks,
Chris

So I've been getting conflicting answers from fellow co-workers...does my boss by law have to pay mileage, and if so is there a minimum she has to pay?
Thanks

The link I provided you IS the law and states (translated into English) all business-related expenses incurred by the employee must be reimbursed. However, the law does not define what the mileage rate must be; only that it "indemnify " the employee, which basically means that the employee must be reimbursed to the extent that he does not personally incur a financial loss.

Okay, so at the minimum she would have to pay me back for however much I spend on gas, and nothing more. Thanks for your help! It seems as though there should be a manditory law to also pay for wear and tear on the vehicle. Oh well, the gas alone is better than nothing. Thanks Again...
If you were in any state but CA, the law would not even require them to reimburse you for mileage.
