This may need to be posted some where else but I thought I would start here. I'm in a tough spot. I process loans for a mortgage broker. I discovered a few weeks ago that one of our loan officers has been signing many of the documents in his loan packages for the customer, instead of getting the customers signatures.

I discovered this after getting closed loan packages back from the attorneys and signatures did not match. I've gone to my boss several times to get this stopped and have said to this person that it's a felony to forge someones signature and it's still happening.

I'm quitting my job on Monday. I've done all I can do to change what's going on. It seems to be more important to the owner to keep bringing the money in, than to worry about compliance. My job is to keep the company compliant and I'm getting pressured to let it slide.

My question is this.... Forgery is a federal offense. In this situation some of these signatures are going to the Federal Housing Authority. Am I obligated to turn them in? If I don't turn them in am I an accessory to the crime?

I'm absolutely sick about this situation. I actually like these people and know that I am in a good shop. WE do help people. And this guy isn't ripping these people off... he is just taking short cuts to get things done. But it's wrong and I won't process his messes any longer.

Please tell me I don't have to call the law on them.

Thank you.
