i just went thru a divorce and my ex won custody cause at the time i couldnt afford a lawyer and he could which means he got everything . him and his lawyer and have taken basically all my parenting right away and my girl as well . he is now refusing to let me have her on my visitation time even told the cops he refused which i think is contempt of court . how do i get cust of my baby back from a mentally verbally and physically abusive man who doesnt even really see his child but for 30 mins a day the rest of the time the child is at school or with granma cause he works. also the jusdge put family and god mixed with the law in the desision does anyone know how to help. the chancelor told dad to move or move his gf out of the house which he has not done yet. the gf has lost cust of all 5 of her kids due to drugs and prostitution (and dad thinks i should be ok with her around our kid) not. dad lives in 2 room house yes 2 room s and a tiny bathroom. child doesnt have her own room. father isnt allowing mom to see child at all because of her bf . but yet he has child and lives with his gf.

You really need to get an attorney. Call your state's Bar association for a referral. You can also try writing short letters briefly explaining the situation (add copies of the court orders) to all the family law attorneys in your district. Sometimes you can find someone who's willing to let you make small payments.
