I am a 26 year old mom of 1 little boy a year old, and we reside in NJ. However, I got married last April and been seperated from my husband since Thanksgiving. He committed adultry and got another girl pregnant, and doesn't help me with our son. He has seen our son maybe 5 times in the last 6 months but only for about five minutes each time. However, he is currently in jail for violating probation, how do I get child support? Where do I go? I don't know what I am suppose to do, he didn't even make it to his son's first birthday party. File for CS now- it is very important that you file before the other mother does because whoever files first will get the larger amount of CS.

Contact your state's CS enforcement office and they should be able to get things started for the CS. However, they cannot do anything about custody issues.
