About 5 months ago I moved into this great little carriage house in PA… well, it hasn’t been that great. Apparently the property that the house sits on has been up for sale for the past two years and the real estate agent has been showing my house since I’ve been here. I was not informed of this when I moved in. Only once did I receive notice. That’s not all, my septic tank has been “backed-up” on and off every since I moved in, the propane regulator on my stove is set to high and my oven has never worked. All of this has been promised to be fixed but hasn’t been.
There are several other rental units on this property, we are all on well water and everyone has been having gastrointestinal problems and we are testing positive for bacterial infections. I think it’s because my septic system isn’t working properly and the landlord has been pumping the excess into the creek here on the property.
So I’ve decided to move. However, I would like my “Last Months Rent” back and a refund of the fees it is costing me to move. I would also like the vet bills paid for my dog who is ill from the water. Does anyone know if I have any “legs” to stand on here?
I did give proper 30 days notice (month to month lease) but now the landlord is asking me to move early as he already has the place rented again….
