What is the law in New York for the Maximum Consecutive Days worked allowed without a day off?

My Department is the Engineering/Maintenance Department in a hospital. Approximately (6) of the men in the department have been working continuously for about 12 days thus far. They have been working approximately 10 hour days M-F, 6-12 hours a day on the weekend. They are working on an internal renovation/construction project with a tight deadline. :confused:

Generally speaking, there are no such laws in New York. However, there ARE some industries in which the employee is entitled to "one day's rest in seven".
