I believe that I might be a victim of age discrimination. I was recruited by a company here in Texas and moved here from CA in August. I was hired as a specialist in a particular curriculum area. From the beginning 2 younger women have attempted to derail me without provocation. The behind the back comments got so bad that another woman finally reported it to the manager and then told me what was happening. I spoke with the manager who insisted that it would be handled. The back stabbing never stopped. The situation came to a head when at an out of town function I failed to follow the rules and where "red" sneakers. Several managers attacked me over the transgression including one of the 2 women who are now team managers. Since that time a litany of transgressions have followed to include that I can not reserve conference rooms correctly, that I have issues with team members ( the 2 afore mention women)...... I was warned that my job was in jeopardy - 30 day notice. I have apologized to the 2 women who I have done nothing to apologize for and attempted to dodge the ever changing bullet. I t would appear that a bulletin was put out so that anyone who had any issue with me real or imagined should write in and they would be believed without question. Did I mention that everyone in the department is under 40 - I am 57 but don't look it. I can tell that they are collecting a case against me over trivia - nothing performance related although recently my work load has exceeded that which 3 people could accomplish on speed. I am a high energy professional who can handle more than my share but this is ridiculous. What are my options - the working situations is abusive? Thank you

Based on your post, you haven't porvided any details that would back a claim of age discrimination at all. I see alot of issues revolving around performance issues but not age. Just because you are 57 and the rest of the department is under 40 is not a basis for age discrimination. You would have an extremely hard time convincing anyone that age discrimination has taken place.

Aside from the differences in age, what makes you think it is your age that is the problem?
