My husband is an employee in arizona for a federal agency and my question is two parts.

1.) Does he fall under federal labor laws or arizona labor laws or both?

2.) is there a max amount of hours an employee can be forced to work in a work week. He is sometimes working 60-70 plus hours a week (sometimes 12 hour days with only sundays off) when other employees who have been there longer are only being force to work 40 hours?

2.) Not unless he is working under a bona fide, enforceable contract that says otherwise. The law in Arizona (and in almost all other states) does not limit the number of hours an employee can be required to work. Nor does Federal law have any such prohibition.
