A couple of days ago i got fired from my job of almost two years for what they call a code of conduct violation. I worked at a call center and according to them I did not respond to a customer who called for 15 minutes, and I took too long to answer a other call by a few seconds. This happen within a week span, however I was not notified about the first incident until the 2nd happen which at that time they fired me. I filed for unemployment right away, however do you think I will qualify. I live in the state of kansas. Thank you

Kansas is an "at-will" employment state. What this means is that an employer (or employee) can terminate employment at any time and for any reason except for race, religion, ethnicity, etc.

The OP asked whether we thought she would qualify for unemployment benefits. The answer is, we have no way of knowing. All you can do, OP, is file and find out. It's free and there is no penalty for being wrong.

I've went several rounds over the last couple decades... seems very few employers will just let you have UI without a fight. If they had laid you off or terminated you due to downsizing, you'd likely be free and clear.

I'd recommend you apply for UI, appeal if denied, and make it to the scheduled hearing, even if you've found another job. There have been two times that I have done this and walked away with the enitre sum of the weekly benefit claims all in one check. Sure didn't help me when I had no money though.

Good luck to ya.
