Hello there, I put in my written and verbal 2 weeks notice at my job a week ago. They decided to let me go today. I was a salaried employee. I have 2 questions.

1) Do they have to pay me within a certain amount of time?
2) I heard that they have to pay me for the 2 weeks notice because I gave a written notice, even though they let me go. Is this true?

Confused,

Denver CO

1.) Yes, they do, though I'm not where I can look up how much time - I'll do that for you tomorrow.

2.) No, there is no truth to that rumor. Notice or no notice, they are under no legal obligation to pay you beyond the last day you actually worked. However, it is possible that you might be eligible for unemployment for those two weeks.

Colorado is the next regularly scheduled payday for voluntary terminations.
