Hi, It has been requested that I move the the United Kingdom for 6 months to work. My work will pay for my living over there, but I just signed a 1 year lease here in Missouri that they will not pay for me to get out of. My question is "Is there any clause or "work around" that I can use since I will be completely out of the country?"

What if a roommate is involved? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

read your lease you may have an early termination clause in your lease. if not then you will be responsible until the landlord rents the property.
if you have a roommate, if they are on the lease with you, you are liable for your half unless you make an agreement with the roommate. if you are on the lease alone then you are liable. Some landlords may release you from the lease if you find an acceptable person to assume the lease. Some landlords will allow you to rent to another, called subletting. The landlord may refuse to allow you to do this. If your landlord agrees to allow you to terminate early, be sure to get in writing any agreement as to penalties or future rent owed

See if your lease allows you to sublet and also see about lease termination clauses. Also, if you are returning, you may want to keep your apartment with your things there since this is just 6 months.
