Please as you are searchng on the group, DO NOT post anything such as
Driver`s License Number`s, Private Home Phone Numbers, Home Addresses,
SNN`s, etc directly on the group.There are people out there that will
take this kind of info and try to use it illegally. If you should be
helping someone in their search, PLEASE send it directly to the person
via
their private email addy. This is to protect you against invasion of
privacy law suits or any other legality.

Subject: File - All Members Please Read
Dear List Members:
I need to ask each and every member here who is working privately with
a search angel to PLEASE keep correspondence privately between you and
that specific search angel regarding: Phone call, addresses, possible
names, etc..., This is not only for the list's protection but for
your
protection as well, as I understand that private information must be
keep just that - PRIVATE. My understanding is that laws are changing
and
with the internet now, everything is much more open and "out there."
I
would hate to see a search angel lose access to a paid database or
someone (or this list) get threatened with an invasion of privacy
lawsuit.
(Yes, it is happening more and more these days.) Think of it this way
- if you were not searching, would you like for your own
name/address/phone number/house value, etc.., to be posted in a public
forum for many
to see? It has happened on other lists and searchers and search angels
have lost access to databases and threatened with lawsuits. This is
why I ask this favor of all of you. I do not want to be the bad guy
but
should I see someone post something e.g. names, addresses, phone
numbers, references to contact calls, etc..., you will be set to a
moderated
status. Again, I am not trying to be mean but I am trying to protect
myself, this list and the list`s members, all of whom I consider
family.

Subject: File - E-mail attatchments
Am writing this letter to the group in reguards to e-mail
attatchments.
If or when you are doing this with you're posting please mention in
the
initial letter that there is an attatchment, as many of us (if it's
not
mentioned) tend to hit the delete key.
Just want to remind everyone of this courtesy, as there are many
attatchments coming out lately, that aren't marked in the intitial
posts.
If the attatchment comes unmarked, please for you're own sake be very
cautious about opening (i myself have found the delete key quite quick
and handy).
Another reminder is be very careful of opening mail that is not in
groups that you are on, or from people you don't know.

When you receive search posts from the various registries
redistributed
from this address you must reply to the email in the body of the post,
and not to me. I cannot give you any information on any of the
searches
redistributed by me. The email address can be found where it says:

It has become apparent that while we all love the nars and forwarded
messages, that they take up alot of storage space on the archives.
We are asking all members to please limit your nar's and forwards to
one a day. If replying to them remove everything but your reply. If
you
are forwarding a message, remove all the extra forwarded addresses

If the group cannot police itself and help with this minor problem
that
can get out of hand. We will have to limit them to certain days or
restrict them from the group entirely.

Hello fellow siblings:
We as the owner/moderators of the group would like to issue a
cautionary email to you as group members.
Sometimes there are members who join our group and see how very
generous and loving you are and can be. They will unfortunately play
on that
generosity for their own motives.
We do encourage members to help and support one another in many ways.
There are times when we recognize that flowers from their siblings or
help with reunion expenses are necessary to ensure that these reunions
will happen.
We would ask that if you hear of a need or would like to send flowers
or some special kind of event that takes gathering funds that you
bring
this to one of the moderators/or owner of the group. We will then
investigate the situation and set up a way to do this. The
owner/moderators reserve the right to say which of these events are
done in the name
of Angels Lost in Adoption Group.
We would also ask if you are approached by someone other than a
moderator or owner of this group for any reason to please notify us as
this is
very strictly against the group ruless unless sanctioned by the

We wanted to pass this to all of you who are getting subbed to groups
directly. What you need to do is go to Yahoo and click on MyGroups.
Once
you Click on MyGroups go to MyPreferences. Once you are in
MyPreferences Click on the Email addy that you have listed with Yahoo
and you will
see where to set yourself not to be added to other groups by
Moderators. Set yourself to that. This way you cannot be added to
groups that you
have not asked to join unless you have been invited to join. I have
received several complaints from members here on the group that have
been
added to another group here on Yahoo without asking to join. So please
to stop this go do what I have give you instructions to do. Please
remember to do this before unsubbing from a group you have been added
to,
this way you cannot be re-added or subbed to any group that
you do not wish to be on.

I'm sure the laws do differ in different states but I think they will
release it only if your bdaug requests it.If you want her to have it,I
would have your CI ask her if she would like to have it.My bdaug is
only
21 so I was prepared for her not being ready(although I was hoping
that
she would be).If you have signed a consent to release your
ident.info,she should be able to get it as long as she requests it.I
haven't heard
anything.I did e-mail my CI awhile ago and she also had not heard
anything else.I think I am going to write another letter,just to let
her
know I am thinking of her and the door is still(and always will
be)open
for her.Will they let you write a letter to your bdaug for them to
pass
on to her?I also included a picture of us(me and her bsisters)so she
knows what we look like.I will keep you posted and please keep me
posted

BM iso son born 4/28/1970. He was born at New York Hospital, NYC,
NY. Maternity Home was Inwood House in NYC. I am from Long Island,
NY but went into city to have my baby. The adoption agency was
Spence Chapin. According to Spence Chapin and NYS - he was not
adopted in NY. Most likely adopted in NJ or CT. I do have the
number from his original birth certificate.
Any suggestions on where to go from here will be greatly appreciated.

Irma gave birth on July 13th, 1966 to a baby girl
Irma named her--Karen Renee Yates
Karen has been married for 16 yrs now & has 4 children . She would
love to have medical info & meet Irma if she is willing.

worked with Spence Chapin.
BTW, are there medical updates? Will nys let you update the file?
This is what we also need to be concentrating on, changing the laws,
where
children are born in one state, and adopted in another. We should
make
both
states responsible and cooperate with the registry.
Did you do a search on Spence Chapin adoptees. Maybe other people
know
what
states they shipped the children to, or if they should be able to tell
you
that.
Did you check the new york state laws, and see if the agency should
have to
give you better answers than, being vague.

Dear List Members:
I need to ask each and every member here who is working privately with
a search angel to PLEASE keep correspondence privately between you and
that specific search angel regarding: Phone call, addresses, possible
names, etc..., This is not only for the list's protection but for
your
protection as well, as I understand that private information must be
keep just that - PRIVATE. My understanding is that laws are changing
and
with the internet now, everything is much more open and "out there."
I
would hate to see a search angel lose access to a paid database or
someone (or this list) get threatened with an invasion of privacy
lawsuit.
(Yes, it is happening more and more these days.) Think of it this way
- if you were not searching, would you like for your own
name/address/phone number/house value, etc.., to be posted in a public
forum for many
to see? It has happened on other lists and searchers and search angels
have lost access to databases and threatened with lawsuits. This is
why I ask this favor of all of you. I do not want to be the bad guy
but
should I see someone post something e.g. names, addresses, phone
numbers, references to contact calls, etc..., you will be set to a
moderated
status. Again, I am not trying to be mean but I am trying to protect
myself, this list and the list`s members, all of whom I consider
family.

Just want to remind everyone of this courtesy, as there are many
attatchments coming out lately, that aren't marked in the intitial

If the attatchment comes unmarked, please for you're own sake be very
cautious about opening (i myself have found the delete key quite quick
and handy).
Another reminder is be very careful of opening mail that is not in
groups that you are on, or from people you don't know.

directly. What you need to do is go to Yahoo and click on MyGroups.
Once
you Click on MyGroups go to MyPreferences. Once you are in
MyPreferences Click on the Email addy that you have listed with Yahoo
and you will
see where to set yourself not to be added to other groups by
Moderators. Set yourself to that. This way you cannot be added to
groups that you
have not asked to join unless you have been invited to join. I have
received several complaints from members here on the group that have
been
added to another group here on Yahoo without asking to join. So please
to stop this go do what I have give you instructions to do. Please

I'm sure the laws do differ in different states but I think they will
release it only if your bdaug requests it.If you want her to have it,I
would have your CI ask her if she would like to have it.My bdaug is

21 so I was prepared for her not being ready(although I was hoping

she would be).If you have signed a consent to release your
ident.info,she should be able to get it as long as she requests it.I
haven't heard
anything.I did e-mail my CI awhile ago and she also had not heard
anything else.I think I am going to write another letter,just to let
her
know I am thinking of her and the door is still(and always will
be)open
for her.Will they let you write a letter to your bdaug for them to
pass
on to her?I also included a picture of us(me and her bsisters)so she
knows what we look like.I will keep you posted and please keep me

BM iso son born 4/28/1970. He was born at New York Hospital, NYC,
NY. Maternity Home was Inwood House in NYC. I am from Long Island,
NY but went into city to have my baby. The adoption agency was
Spence Chapin. According to Spence Chapin and NYS - he was not
adopted in NY. Most likely adopted in NJ or CT. I do have the
number from his original birth certificate.
Any suggestions on where to go from here will be greatly appreciated.

BTW, are there medical updates? Will nys let you update the file?
This is what we also need to be concentrating on, changing the laws,
where
children are born in one state, and adopted in another. We should
make
both
states responsible and cooperate with the registry.
Did you do a search on Spence Chapin adoptees. Maybe other people
know
what
states they shipped the children to, or if they should be able to tell
you
that.
Did you check the new york state laws, and see if the agency should
have to
give you better answers than, being vague.

NY. Maternity Home was Inwood House in NYC. I am from Long Island,
NY but went into city to have my baby. The adoption agency was
Spence Chapin. According to Spence Chapin and NYS - he was not
adopted in NY. Most likely adopted in NJ or CT. I do have the
number from his original birth certificate.
Any suggestions on where to go from here will be greatly appreciated.
