Rhode Island does not currently have any statute that requires rest or meal breaks.

Also i was wondering if state law provides employees to unpaid time off. If so how much time off. There is a federal law that requires to extend unpaid leave to employees under certain circumstances. Can you be more specific as to what you're referring to?

With a single industry specific exception in Illinois, NO state requires an employer to give two 15 minute coffee breaks. There are six states that require a ten minute break for every four hours worked. Rhode Island is not one of those states.

You can only collect unemployment if you are actively looking for work. If you can fit school in, fine. However, unemployment benefits are not meant to pay your expenses while you go to school; they are meant to tie you over when you lose your job through no fault of your own, and while you are looking for another one.
