I understand the 30 minute meal period and 10 min rest after 4 hrs. Here's my questions -
1. I work a 7hr day. Does that entitle me to 2 - 10 min breaks.
2. If my employer wants to give us the flexibility of taking our lunch or break at the end of the day, is the employer breaking the law?
3. Can you take your 30 minute meal period by combining 2 - 10 minute breaks and and taking 10 minutes unpaid to total the 30 min meal period?

1. yes. The law states 10 minutes per four hours of work or major portion thereof.

2. Probably. And even if not, he's certainly circumventing the intent of it.

3. No. Breaks and meal periods are mutually exclusive.
