:confused: Hi, Im planning to rent a condo I saw in a ad on craigslist for four days. I email the landlord, he expects a $150.00 deposit before I go. (Check ). Is this a good idead? what should I do before renting this vacation condo?

It's not unusual for an owner to ask for a deposit for a condo rental. You should have a signed agreement from him as to what the deposit covers, what you need to do to get your deposit back at the end of your vacation stay (do you have to clean it before you leave, for example), and the timeframe in which it will be returned.

damages deposits are not unusual but it may be wise to check out the place or at least know of its location, quality, and safety before parting with money for a deposit that you may not be able to get back
