I was the supervisor of 5 employees. I came to work the following day after being off the previous. My manager came into my office and stated "that the team that I was supervising does not report to me anymore". Immediately I asked him what was going on "It is coming from the top". So I went and talk to the top. She stated we will give you the option of resigning or being terminated.
Question: Can an employer terminate you after 6 years of service, never had an disciplinary action taken toward you for performance or anything. Simply walk in one day and be terminated; no paper work signed, no explanation just those options.
