Here's the deal...I worked w/ this co for 7 years before transitioning into a mangement role. I loved what I was doing, yet was advised that my skills and services would best serve the business in a mangemnet role. Advice came from direct manager. I was promoted. In taking this role I also lost all over time pay, quarterly incentives, and the sick pay out bonus. What this actually translated to was a loss of over $16,000 income.
Is there anything I can do to get my salary increased to at least where it was a year ago?; 2 years ago? 3?...Bottom line I made less as a manger, w/ increased responsibilites, work load and projects, and about same hours, than I did over the last 5 years. It just doesn't feel right or just and has caused my family financial hardship...but what can be done?

Present your case. Do salary comparisons for similar positions in your area and industry. Point out your contributions to the company and any specific accomplishments, such as "reduced overtime by 25%" or "implemented a new procedure that save 10% on copy machine rentals".

Do all the things Patty suggests, but just keep in mind that you are not legally entitled to anything over minimum wage and that if your employer refuses to increase your wage, your sole options are either to put up with it or find another job where your skills are valued more appropriately.
