I work for a large company been there for almost 6 years iam in management in feb. I told my boss i was looking for another job and i had 2 weeks vacation time coming to me, how would i get it, she didnt know her boss said that i could get a week but not 2, in the meantime i couldnt go on vacation because the store was understaffed and you have to be appoved the vacation time, my last day was supposed to be march 17, i took it upon myself to contact corp in mass. and found out that i had 7 more days owed to me but would have to take the 7 days before march 17, my boss said okay her boss said no, so what do i do?? also is it legal for the company who has stores in a few states, to change the vacation benefit if you live outside the state of mass?? i also have a emails to back up my claim. At some point this company changed the policy about vacation time i was unaware of this change and so was my boss as she sated to me and her boss if she was aware of this she would have approved for me to take my 2 weeks and then give notice
Yes, it is legal for there to be different vacation benefits at different stores.
No matter where you work, you do not have the guaranteed right to take as much vacation as you want whenever you want. If your boss says you can only take one week off, then you can only take one week off. No law gives you the right to decide when and how much vacation to take - your boss always has the right to deny vacation time.

I understand what you are saying to me, but before i gave my notice to leave, i was told to work untill my final date and see how the company would pay me for my vacation, my boss said that if she knew i wouldnt get my vacation time after leaving she would of made me take my 2 weeks before my final date, the company changed the rules on vacation pay and she wasnt aware of it, so because she wasnt aware of the new policy i have to suffer??
I'm sorry this happened to you, but there is still nothing in your post that indicates any laws have been broken.
