Hi, We live in New Jersey. Is there a law limiting the % by which the landlord can increase rent upon renewal of the lease. Our lease was for 2 years and we are renewing for another 2 years.

I believe that it is between 5%-7% a year. I would call the county courthouse and ask for the landlord-tenant court to find out more information.

Depends on if you are subject to rent control laws or are in a rent control unit, as well as lease terms. All are factors that are not known in terms of responding on here.
