My question is my fiance has a balabce of 803.00 for past child birth cost he is completely up to date on support. I called the 1800 number and it said that there was an offset for FOC. We never recieved a letter stating that they were taking his $658.00 for back support. So I called a 1800 number for the support offices and only 70.00 was applied from federal taxes does that mean because he did not get a letter prior stating they were taking x amount that he will recieve the balance they did not apply??

Your fiance will most likely be recieving the notification of offset from the Dept. of Treasury any day now, it probably just hadn't been sent yet when you called.

Did the CSE agency say that ONLY $70.00 was applied to back support, or did they say that the INTERCEPT was only $70.00. Since the balance on the back support is larger that the tax refund, they are most likely intercepting all of the refund. As soon as he gets the letter from the Dept. of Treasury he should take the letter to CSE agency and make sure that the entire amount is credited to back support. The letter will also let him know exactly how much of the refund was intercepted, if they intercept less than the full refund, he'll get whatever portion wasn't offset.

HIs balance he owes is 806.00 and it is not for support, he is up to date on support it is for the birth of the child. Because mom was on state aide. He was suppost to get federal in the amount of 658.00 and we were told that there was an offset. But I called the support agency and only 70.00 was applied to the amount owed. and i looked up on the irs and it said his check would be mailed march 3, 2006 so does that mean he gets the remanding balance? Thanks for any help..
