Is a resuraunt cashier allowed to receive a tip. If so is the manager allowed to take it from them and not give them none of it.

There is nothing in the law that prohibits the tip being given. However, most restaurants discourage tipping of employees who are not normally tipped. I've been to some very nice restaurants, and I've never tipped a cashier. :eek:

but the thing i am saying is someone gave her the tip and then the manager took it and she got none of it.

It's probably not illegal. I couldn't find any law addressing this either way.

Yes, the cashier can recieve the tip. No, management cannot touch it, ever. :) Check the DOL website. Click under wages, then click under tips. It's all there, in nice, easy to understand form.
