well i use to work at a body and bath store in las vegas nevada, i got my job in november 2005 i was a keyholder at this new job. i bearly got laid off on feb 06. now the reason i was laid off was cause they said i was stealing money and product from the store... but the manager at the time hated me cause i would out sale her 2 to 1. i was the top sales man and the customers loved me. the job calls me about two days ago saying that they are having me investagated for embezzlement.. now i dont know what to do i know i didnt do anything but the old manager blamed all her little mistakes on me. just cause i was in jail in california for something that has nothing to do with this type of deal.. i really dont know what to do with all this. how can i prove that i didnt do anything when shes filling there heads up with all her nonsense and they wont even let me talk......?

If you did not do it, then don't worry about it . they have to prove that you did. GOOD LUCK

I suggest consulting an attorney locally for advice. I say this because you may need to have them write a letter on your behalf and even ask them to come to a monetary settlement with you for the false accusations as well as a confidentiality agreement in which they promise to provide you a positive reference for future employment. I am not sure there is anythign y ou can do to have a future with this company, so it may be best to get some money to start another job and get a positive reference so you can move on. In the attorney letter, ask the attorney to state clearly that you are innocent and that the real problem is that the supervisor had animus toward you and blamed her shortcomings on you, and created a work environment where it was impossible for you to be treated fairly. There may even be some kind of workplace harassment charge to be made in the letter against the supervisor lying on you if she treated y ou poorly at work.
