Thank goodness we have the Barbie and Ken combo, a great manager and a Ph.D. in
government policy as a Lt. Gov., to run our state. That and Mitt has the
perfect family with sons with movie star good looks, squeaky clean, who could
ask for anything more. Except for two terms, then two for Lt. Gov. Kerry
Healey, the real terminator of the pair! ;-)
Ahnold and Maria can't hold a candle to Mitt and Ann Romney. Who needs a
rethreaded version of Camelot.

Mass and Cali are in a similar boat, the difference is scale. Mass's projected
budget deficit for 2004 is around $3B, California's deficit for this year
started at $38B and if Anrie gets his way it could double. Mass has already
been on a three year orgy of cost cutting to stop their hemorhaging, since
2001 they've made these cuts:
• spending on higher education has declined 23 percent;
• funding for housing and community development programs in the state’s annual
operating budget has fallen 57 percent;
• state support for general local government services has dropped 18 percent;
• funding for public health programs in Massachusetts has fallen 27 percent,
and;
• operational spending for K-12 education, excluding Chapter 70, has been
reduced 38 percent.
Arnie's popular plan to roll back the vehicle license fee will directly impact
county services - 25% cuts to services like firefighters. I guess the next
time LA and San Diego are faced with 100 ft walls of flame, residents can call
the Republican party for volunteers to put them out.
