I want to opt out of the medical insurance that my company offers because my husband's insurance is better. My experience has always been that the company gives you money for opting out, because you are note receiving a benefit that everyone else gets. My company in Oregon says no, I would get nothing for opting out becuase it is my choice to take it or not.

No. No law in any state requires them to compensate you for opting out of benefits. In fact, it's not even all that common yet for an employer to do so, although it is becoming more common as the costs of insurance increases.

Your employer is correct. You are choosing not to take the benefit; they are not obligated to compensate you for not taking it, although they are not prohibited from doing so if they decide to do so.
