I was worried about you, since you hadn't posted in a couple of days. I
know your in CA. but not sure where. Seeing all the destruction of the
fires out there had me worried. Glad to see you and hope all is well.

Thanks, Sweetie! I must admit this is totally overwhelming. The news
coverage here is wall-to-wall with barely any actual facts available.
Luckily we had an AC system installed last year which is keeping the
smoke and ash out of the house...we're close to the Reagan Library.
It was very scary there for a few days, not knowing *if* we'd have
to leave...and if we'd *had* to, how would we have been able to do it
on our own? Three old crips and three precious furkids takes some
realtime reconnoitering! All the very special places I've lived during
my days in the sun are under fire...trying not to allow this to become
too depressing hasn't been easy. Santa Susana/Chatsworth...Claremont,
close to Scripps Ranch, ditto Julian and La Mesa, Big Bear Lake, and
Apple Valley...Redlands... too many tears right now.

So sorry to hear that Patty. It is an awful feeling. All the picnic
spots, water holes and special places we knew around here were razed
in January. And when we knew friends who had lost everything, we
could hardly complain that our favorite park was gone. It is now
Spring and although the grass has regrown, the mountains are blackened
because the trees are dead. It looks so odd - the colours are all
wrong because Aussie gums usually make the mountains an olive/bluish
hue.
We have had some good news recently ... Lucky, the badly burned koala
who was the sole survivor at the nature reserve, has improved enough
to be able to take her back to her home. She became the city's
unofficial mascot following the fires, so this was big news.

Wishing your places and people a speedy recovery.

I've been wondering myself, Patti. Good to hear you're safe for now.
