I was wondering if there are any laws in Maryland on when an employer needs to pay out a terminated employee (I know in California it is to happen before they leave the premises)? and if there is something similar to California's law to whom is this reported and what are the reprocussions to the employer?
Maryland law requires that the final paycheck be released no later than the next regular payday. It does not follow CA's example of requiring it on the last day worked.

From the DLLR website:
Each employer shall pay an employee, or the authorized representative of an employee, all wages due for work that the employee performed before the termination of employment, on or before the day on which the employee would have been paid the wages if the employment had not terminated.
If this is not done, then you can report it to the DLLR.
