Is it legal to have been on continous hours and then just because theres is a new day go back to regular time?
I worked on a hazmat incident for a private firm. we were in over time and x2 time. then at 0700 monday put me back on reg time. is that legal?

Yes. The overtime laws are based on a 24-hour period, and start at the date/time certain as the employer defines the workweek. Each 24-hour period stands alone.
If you're really working with hazardous materials, however, there MIGHT be a prohibition against that many hours worked in a row under OSHA or CAL-OSHA, but I admit that is not my area of expertise.

well i would like to get my hands one a politician and make him or her work those kinda hours and see how they feel about the law after that! my bet is they have never worked like that and have no idea of what they make laws about.
Thanks for your reply.
