My husband and I are in desperate need of an attorney for custody of my 12 year old stepson. We live in Michigan and need all the help we can get to help my stepson. He is being medicaly neglected, hit on by his stepfather, missing school, emoitionaly abused. I can go on for ever. We need to get him out of the situation with his mom and stepfather. We don't have tons of money for an attorney. We have called the police and filed reports of his stepdad hitting him. We have other reports of domestic violence from his stepdad. Now his stepdad wont let my stepson talk to his dad and I. So we don't know if everything is OK or not. I talked to the school today and they are aware of what is going on. If any one can help please let us know ASAP.

I don't know what to say. It is sad that this kid is basically trapped.
If you believe something is really wrong, file a motion to modify custody so that your husband can pursue primary physical custody of the child. Consult an attoreny locally to see what your chances of success would be.

We talked to the courts today and protective services. Things are in motion and we have to wait and see what is going to happen..
