My wife and I are both police officers in a major city in Texas. When her supervisor found out she was pregnant they forced her to go on limited duty. This was before her OB/GYN stated that it would be necessary. While I felt more secure with her on limited duty, I was curious if this action was a violation of her rights and if there is any recourse. Thanks.

Under the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, employers are not supposed to make assumption about an employee's ability to perform her job simply because she is pregnant. You may want to contact the EEOC for additional information.
