I was on STD from March 2nd 05 returning May 31st. While on disability, thye didn't have proper training for my position as the payroll coordinator. I was getting paid disability and was supposed to be home resting, but had to work from home except for the week my child was born-April 10. I was told I could use comp time as needed, but they wouldn't give hour for hour. Well, I never got that comp time and still continued to work. Is there any law in Michigan to help me trying to get paid for all of those hours? I do have documented timesheets that I kept for all the hours I put in?

Thanks
Jenni

Unless you are a government employee, comp time in lieu of overtime is not allowed by the Fair Labor Standards Act anyway.

File a claim with the state Dept. of Labor. Your STD benefits will probably be reduced, however. In most circumstances, if you are on STD the provisions of the plan don't allow you to work at all.
