Are there any Mn laws to help protect employees who work for a bully, who is creating a hostile work place? Another problem in the equation, is this person is an County Elected official. The Elected official is constantly bullying their employees. It is not just one employee, but the entire office. Some of the employees have had to seek medical treatments for stress due to this hostile work place. Is there anything they can do regarding this?

A hostile work environment does not mean one in which the boss is unpleasant, no matter how unpleasant we are talking about. In order to successfully claim an HWE, you need to show that you are being subjected either to sexual harassment or illegal discrimination under Title VII and related laws (race, religion, national origin etc.)

The law does not prohibit an employer from being a jerk and does not require the employer to take action against someone whose behavior has not crossed the line into illegal.
