We've been fighting workmans comp for 2 years now. Our lawyer called 2 days ago and said we are going to put in a settlement bid for $125,000 as that is the highest Colorado will pay. He said its the law. Is this true and is it too late to fire this lawyer and get a new one? For 2 years he keeps saying just draw the weekly pay and be happy but they stopped paying in Sept. 05. He scheduled a court date for Feb. 17, 06 but cancelled it without talking to us and explaining why. At the most, including the initial consultation, we have talked to him maybe 6-8 times in this 2 years. When we call his secretary says he'll call if there are any changes. Does any of this sound right? I think he's lazy and working for the workman comp side. Any suggestions would be welcome if its not too late.
