Pattymd 02-01-2006, 05:14 AM Yes, the hours are controlled by the employer. If they want you to take a lunch break, and at a certain time, you do, irrespective of the fact that the law does not require it in your state. eluff 02-06-2006, 03:31 AM Yes, the hours are controlled by the employer. Where can I get some documentation stating that GA has no "lunch break or break" requirements? Marketeer 02-06-2006, 03:36 AM It's hard to get documentation of something that doesn't exist. This page from the U.S. Department of Labor shows which states have laws on lunch/meal breaks. GA is not one of them. http://www.dol.gov/esa/programs/whd/state/meal.htm angel_bug 03-27-2006, 08:24 AM my husband works 3rd shiftfrom 6 pm to 6 is it legal tobreak up his lunch scheldulehis lunch break is as follows 740-750 940-950 11oo-1120 200-210 400-410 they also say he cannot read because his lunch nreaks are paid please let me know if this is legal in the state of georgia Pattymd 03-27-2006, 09:32 AM If his meal periods are paid, then the employer has the right to tell him what he can or cannot do during that period. Again, Georgia has no laws addressing rest breaks or meal periods. So the employer can schedule them at any time during the shift. |
