Marketeer 01-31-2006, 05:59 AM How many employees do you have within 75 miles of your location? If you only have one employee total (unclear from your post) or are under 50 employees, then you have no legal obligation to provide any maternity leave. You only have to provide her with the same amount of leave you'd provide to any similarly situated employee who needed an equivalent amount of medical leave for non-pregnancy reasons. If you have more than 50 employees and the employee in question has worked for you more than 1 year and 1,250 hours in the past year, the employee is entitled to 12 weeks of unpaid leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act. matt234 02-15-2006, 08:01 AM Thanks for the reply |
