Help me, I just learned today that we must tip the cook 7% of our personal earnings. Is this acceptable, are there laws that protect me so I can keep my tips, wouldn't the owner have to pay the cook... I am confused. I am 16 years old trying to help my family and now they want to take part of my tips.... What laws discuss this issue?

"Tipping out" is common in the industry. Usually, however, tipping out is limited to support staff, such as bussers, barbacks, etc. Only one state that I know of specifies what types of employees are eligible to receive funds from a "tip pool" and Arizona isn't it. Sorry.
