For a heads up, I'm the one that started the "travel time in KY" thread.

Well, he was informed by the #2 guy at the company today that the drive time has been brought up by the employees, and was given a copy of the info Pattymd had provided me (thanks, Pattymd!).
I talked to the #2 guy tonight, and he informed me that the boss plans on taking away the $.50/hour raise he had given the leadmen to offset taking the vans from us.
The boss is also talking about making the leadmen drive straight to the jobsites, and have the helpers come by the shop in the morning to pick up the workvans and bring them to the jobsites.

My questions are:
Can he cut our pay?
And can he make us drive our personal automobiles during work hours from jobsite to jobsite when necessary?

I apologize for having to ask you people about this. I promise that I have attempted to look up this info myself, but to no avail. I appretiate all of the help.

Thanks,
Dan

Edit:
After a search, I realize he can cut our wages, but in retaliation?

One more thing:
When gas shot sky high(during this past summer), we leadmen made an agreement with the owner to pay for the oil changes to help out with the cost of driving the vans home. I haven't driven the van home since I took my vacation in late December.
Last week, the owner took the van to get the oil changed. They replaced the air filter, which was very dirty. He hung the old one in the shop the day after, with a little note beside it talking about how dirty it was and how it was falling apart. In todays paycheck stub, I see a deduction for $15 for the air filter! Another leadman told the owner that he has never changed the filter in his van, yet nothing was done about it.
While I was on vacation, he took my "part's cleaner" out of the van, and smashed it with a sledgehammer, telling the other employees that I shouldn't have had my personal belongings on the van. Grant it, it stayed in the shop for a couple months, and then on my van for a while; but it was never in my way. I believe all this, and other little B.S. he pulls on my behalf, is harassment. I don't know what to do.

At this point, all you can do is present these facts to the Dept. of Labor. This guy seems like a real jerk at best. :(
