I was wrongly terminated in my opinion about 4 months ago, denied my unemployment and dont know what else to do. I was a nurse at Scenic Hills Nursing Center and was working a 16 hour shift. I gave a resident his medication 1/2 hour early per his request and all the nurses gave this man his medicine earlier than that most of the time. Well during that shift another nurse stold a card of oxycontin and I told the administration I wasnt in that cart after they counted the narcotics the night before. Well I got termninated for giving the medication at 7pm instead of 7:30pm. I sent the Health Dept in on the facility due to lack of supplies and lack of care and they were cited for everything I reported. Well now the administration has filed a complaint with the Board of Nursing stating I took the oxycontin. I have talked to every senator, governor everyone I can think of about this situation. Does any one have any suggestions what I can do next?

What you describe does not meet the definition of a wrongful termination under the law.

If you were fired in retaliation for loding a complaint against your employer with the Health Department, that is very likely unlawful and you need to speak to an attorney. If you were fired for giving a patient his medication early or because they believe you stole the medication, then that is not a wrongful termination and you have no claim to make.
