i was recently working for as a waiter at a casino/dinner lounge in Montana, when a female employee became distraught and upset. I tried to help her and she became more upset and left, leaving me to finish her tables. The next day she came in and accused of me of sexually harassing her and threaten to sue, if i was not fired. I was promptly fired. The manager claimed he had to fire me. I was wondering what the process is for handling sexual harassment claims and other rights an accused might have? thanks for your time
While I do not approve of the way your employer handled the situation, they did not violate any laws. It would have been preferable for them to conduct an investigation first, but if they want to take the accuser's word and fire the alleged harasser out of hand, so far no laws exist that prohibit that.

i also asked the manager for a written statement regarding the incident and wanted himself and i to sign it. he didnt think it was necessary. was it too much to ask?
He was not legally obligated to give it to you, and I can think of reasons why it might have been unwise for him to do so.
