I'm trying to guage if this is legal in Pennsylvania. Can a restaurant expect a server to pay back unpaid portions of a bill? I presented my table their check, which they paid. However, I had added two desserts to the bill, but forgot to print a new copy of the check. They paid the bill without paying for the desserts. My manager expected me to pay for the desserts. I should add at my restaurant customers pay a cashier, not their server.
Can anyone help me on laws regarding that, and if a register is short can they demand you make up the difference.

I'm sorry. Didn't know that was allowed. Just thought it might get missed in one place.
All apologies

I'm not yelling at you, just explaining. This is the weekend, and the posters who respond here are all volunteers. Even me, though I try to check in daily. There are people more qualified than I to answer your question but they all have jobs and families and other things to do. I"m sure that you'll get an answer to your original post but you need to be patient if you don't get one right away. Okay? :)
