I work as a lifeguard at a local pool. In addition to the fumes from the chlorine, today they decided to do some painting in the pool area. The combination of paint fumes and chlorine fumes today were unbelievable. Perhaps for the club members who were coming to swim for say 1/2 hr to 45 minutes it was not so dangerous, but for myself and my fellow employees the fumes were quite distressing. I think common sense would dictate that such painting would be done when the health club is closed, but are there any safety rules that would regulate the mixing of chlorine and paint fumes in such an environment? Thanks!
