I am married for 5&1/2 yrs now. We have 3yr old son.I am from India. My hubby is us citizen.
He is good person but he is under his mom's control. My in-laws live with us all the time.
They give me horrible time. They treat me like a maid . I am well educated . I don't have any job. They don't allow me to mix up with other people. My parents in India are not keeping well. I am visiting them with my son. My hubby keeps me threatening that he will leave me & take my child away if I refuse to stay with his parents. Now when I am in India he tells me if I don't come back he will give a police complaint that I kidnapped my own child. My husband gives me bad words. I am unaware of laws in texas. I don't have any relatives in US whom I can ask for help. I don't have any brother sister who can help me. I don't know how to deal with this situation. As a typical Indian woman I don't want to break my marriage
but I have no idea what I should do? I want to ask u if my hubby breaks this
relation who will get the child? He keeps threatening that he will get custody of the child as I am not earning member. If he breaks this marriage I have no intension of staying there in US so can I get the child custody if I decide to come & settle in India? Please help.

Because of the complication of citizenship issues, you really need the advice of a good family law attorney. Look in the phone book to see if your area has a Legal Aid office, you can also call around and might be able to find an attorney who'll give you a low or no cost consultation. Good luck.
