I had my daughter back in 02 and her biological dad signed all of the papers and all but he is an abusive drug addict and when I kind of came to my senses I left him on Feb. 04. Now I am married and have been for about 8 months now living in PA since about 8-9 months ago. My husband and I wand him to adopt her but I doubt that her dad will sign his rights away-he's very manipulative and controling but he hasn't seen her since Feb. of last year and he hasn't called ot contacted me to check on her since Nov. of last year. He does pay child support but since November or December he hasn't been paying the addiquite amount. I would greatly apresheate some help. Thank you.

It is bad, but may not be bad enough for a judge to grant involuntary termination of parental rights and allow an adoption unless there is overwhelming proof and witnesses that the stepparent adoption is in the best interest of the child. Many states deem payment of child support as contact with the child. Take advantage of some free attorney consultations to see if this is a case worth pursuing.
