Connecticut - The company had a policy change stating that a lunch half hour would be automatically deducted from our hours every day. I was not taking a lunch break and continued working. Can you tell me if an employer can deduct for lunch from your hours if you work through your lunch period? Can an employer force you to take a lunch break?

If you worked through your lunch break, you must be paid (assuming you are a nonexempt employee). However, whether the law requires it or not, if the employer says you take a lunch break, you take a lunch break. And you can be disciplined for not following the policy.
