Hi, I posted to these newsgroups a while ago asking for help and ideas in my search for my biological German mother. I live in England and had not seen her since my fathers and mothers divorce when I was 5 years old. I was given some great ideas by people in these newsgroups and a few people e.mailed me with extra ideas. Anyway I wanted to say thankyou to all those that gave me information and especially to those that took the time to e.mail me. I have now found my mother and we even talked on the phone today. Most of all I want to say thankyou to "Michaela W." that e.mailed me from Germany. Without asking for anything in return she phoned the city administration in which my mother lived. Found my half brother (that I did not know existed) and then she phoned my mother. Michaela even phoned me in England and left a message on my answer machine to tell me the good news. Michaela did all this even though I never knew her before one and a half weeks ago. I doubt I would have found my mother if it was not for Michaela's helping hand as I can not speak German and do not know the system there. I have been totally amazed by Michaela's generosity of spirit. In ten days she made something happen for me that I had spent many many years just thinking about but too nerveous to do anything about. I'll phone her tommorow and tell her personally but I wanted to share with the newsgroup how much of a *Star* Michaela is to me. I now have a new journey. To get to know my mother again and I guess more about my self aswell. Its actually very frightening in a way but also very wonderful. I hope that all those who are still searching for lost relatives will also find them. Again thankyou to all you folks that helped. Regards PeteThat's fantastic news Pete! I've been down the road you're about to take, and though it was scary, it was wonderful and I will never ever regrethaving made the decision to do this.At present I'm in the process of finding my half sisters and once they arelocated, my journey will be complete.I hope that you'll be able to post updates.Best wishes.Judy - German born adoptee.
