I had a week where I worked 72 hours in one week. I was working 12 to 16 hour work days.I know I get time and a half after 8, for 4 hours, and then the next four hours I get double. Do I get overtime for over 40 hours, and overtime for working over 8 hours on that day? If so how do you calculate the next four hours, and then the next four hours? Please help. Also it was at $10 an hour.

You would have to write out how many hours you work for each day. You get overtime if you work more than 8 hours a day OR more than 40 hours a week. So, if you worked 7 hours for 7 days you would get 9 hours of overtime, but if you worked 10 hours for 4 days you would get 8 hours of overtime. Do you understand?

The hours only have to be paid once. So, once the time is required to be paid at 1.5 or double time, it's paid, and does not need to be considered again.
If you would like to give us your actual schedule, we can tell you exactly.
